Thanx
The first part of the book (by Melva Purkis) looks at the general principles of prayer, while the second (by Cyril Tennant) looks at the practice of prayer, especially as exemplified by people in Scripture.
If any attempt to set forth the principles of prayer is to be effective it must be practical. There is a very real sense in which prayer is not a subject for philosophers, nor indeed a preoccupation for theologians, it is essentially an experience to be sought, rather than a theory to be speculated on.
