The material that was put together for this study was slanted in its apporach, being deliberately developed to pursue three principle objectives:
Because most Christadelphians are familair with the record in Joshua, it was soon obvious that it would be particularly important to interest, to challenge, and to make relevant. The imparting of information, normally an important further objective for any teacher, was in this case included mainly to set the scene, or to assist in the solution to problems.

Originally given as a series of Bible Class lectures in Australia in 1987, the studies contained in this book grew out of a feeling of nearness to the great character Joshua, and his stirring colleague, Caleb.
Their faith at Kadesh-barnea is one thing. Still another is their incredible patience in the thirty-eight “wasted” years which followed. But they knew what we are still learning: the wilderness years are not wasted on those who know they are on their way to the promised land.
