Peace with God is a study of the atonement, and its scope is best explained by quoting what the author, Bro. Geoff Mitchell, says towards the end of the book. He wrote: ‘The author undertook this study to better understand how God has provided the way to escape the consequences of our first parents’ disobedience.’ In the Preface he explains how that, as a young man, he thought he understood the words, phrases and metaphors used in Scripture to describe how God provided this ‘way to escape’. However he came to realise that, in reality, he did not fully understand or appreciate the meaning of such terms as ransom, justification and many more. So he set about his studies in order to rectify the situation.
