Thre is something very personal about the Psalms. They were written just for the reader, whoever and wherever he might be.

They capture his feelings, reflect his emotions and in a most suprising way, they will gather together his thoughts and give expression to them in words which are far more accurate and beautiful than he could conceive. So true is this that he can use the Psalms as prayers to voice the whole range of his experiences -- thanksgiving, praise, contrition, fear, or confident belief. Furthermore, because the Psalms are Divinely inspired, when used as prayers they must be surely acceptable to god.

Thre are three aspects to be covered in a study of the Psalms: background and authorship; basic principels which they teach and wh8ich are good for all time, and the prophetic teaching which by Divine inspiration is built into them.

The following studies are not intended to be full expositions of the Psalms, but rather an attempt to encourage a greater awareness of those things written for our learning.
