Melchizedek is, by far, the most elusive of Biblical figures that we read about.

He appears suddenly in the pages of Scripture and disappears just as quickly. While it may be true that very little is recorded of the man, we encounter many references to this intriguing individual throughout the pages of the Old Testament. Men like Phinehas, David and Joshua, the son of Josedech, play out typical roles, offering us glimpses of his priestly work. The message of the prophets give substance to the character of the one who would come "after the order of Melchizedek".
