This book attempts to show that God's purpose has been, and continues to be on Israel.
When the Apostle Paul, imprisioned in Rome, called for the local Jews and declared to them "for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain" (Acts 28v20), he would surely not have realized that a group of believers in the gospel he taught, would, 1900 years later, use thse words as a shorthand phrase for their belifs. From their inception as a community of believers, Christadelphians have always had a strong focus upon Israel, realizing that God's word of salvation in Christ is based upon the promises He made to the Jewish fathers of old, and that the complete fulfilment of these promises will not occur until Jesus Chrsit returns to rule the earth in an Israel-centered Kingdom.
