Handmaid of the Lord
This book seeks to direct our minds to an extraordinary sister - Mary: The Handmaid of the Lord, in the hope that the ready will come to know Mary better and come to admire her. We share find inspiring examples of faithfulness in her life; these offer instruction and exhortation for our walk for our walk as brothers and sisters of her son.
It is a sad fact that false Christianity has promoted a corrupted picture of Mary. There is a term - Mariolatry - to describe the idolatrous worship of this very special woman. In Roman Catholic Churches and homes around the world, there are pictures, icons, and statues of Mary; she has been elevated to a position of honor that rivals that of her son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
This study has drawn upon the thoughts of many speakers and authors. A select Bibliography lists some of these sources that were found to be particularly helpful, but there are many other works and individuals that have contributed ideas and impressions that have been drawn upon in the preparation of this book.
