On the Way

On the Way

Bible Studies, Exhortations, Meditations, and Musings
From the beginning, "The Way" was the preferred description of the faith of Christ's followers. Would be believers were instructed in "The Way of the Lord" (Acts 18v25), for it was "The Way" to be saved and the persecutors of the early church, or Ecclesia, sought out those "who belonged to the Way".

The Way describes a path to salvation, a manner of living day by day, and a journey through life with all its ups and downs. It could be a difficult way; some suffered and died because of their faith. But it was a rewarding way, because there is no other way "by which we must be saved".

The blood of Jesus Christ is "the new and living way", by which we draw near to God. Those who follow their Lord know where they are going. They know how to get there, they will not be turned aside. They are "On the Way" to the promised land.
