The purpose of these verse by verse exposition of this little understood book is a hope that they fulfil a need in the Brotherhood, and assist the reader to comprehend better the depth of love that has been manifested by the Lord Jesus Christ towards his Ecclesia; and at the same time, assist him to reveal a greater measure of the same love toward his Lord and his brethren.

Every verse has been commented on, but we have endeavoured to limit the extend of the exposition, in order that the power of Scripture itself might be emphasised.

The comments indicate who the various spekers are, and the reader will find it to advantage to indicate this in the verse of the Bible.
