Verse by verse notes on Micah
Micah began to prophesy before the overthrow of Samaria, and foresaw the dreadful judgment soon to fall, because of the sins of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat. Micah, however, in taking up the prophecy against Samaria, discerned a fearful foretaste of the fate in store for Jerusalem, unless she repented. Micah dwelt, not exultantly, but thoughtfully upon the prostration of Israel, and turned to accuse Judah of no less a sin, and to warn of no less retribution.
