God Spell - what a strange title for a book which retells the story told in the Bible! It is not so strange as it seems. The word "gospel" is well known. It is the English for the Greek "evangellion". "Evangellion" means "good news". The Anglo Saxon word for God is akin to "good". The Anglo Saxon word for Story is "spell". Thus the word "gospel" involves the idea of God's Story. In a very real sense the story told in the Bible is God's Spell, or story.
There is no substitute for reading the Scriptures themselves and it is hoped that this book will have stimulated a greater desire for understanding the word of God in the Bible
