School's out is a fun story of a young Amish girl named Rachel Yoder. She is nine years old and turns ten about half way thru the book. She is always in trouble. She wants a skateboard for her birthday, but she doesn't have enough money, so her brothers make her one, but she doesn't know where to ride it. She ends up riding it in the house and gets very hurt falling down. She messed up her moms floor and ripped her dress. When her sister came home she gave Rachel another skateboard which they returned. When had to polish the floor she messed up and mend her dress, but when she isn't riding her skateboard in the wrong place, or falling into ponds, she is setting fireflies lose or bringing frogs to church. This twelve chapter book is full of fun, surprises and fun that anyone and everyone will enjoy. If you like "School's" Out try "Back to School", book two, where their is more fun and Rachel goes back to school.
