Australia's participation in the East Timor conflict in 1999 and events in September 2001 have raised the possibility of military conscription becoming legislation again.

A subcommittee of the Adelaide Inter Ecclesial Advisory Committee had therefore worked towards assisting our community if such conscription was re-introduced. This handbook has been compiled as a point of reference on the sujbect and is designed to provide some resources to increase the awareness of this issue.
