How doth the city sit solitary...
Jerusalem hath greviously sinned;
Therefore she is removed...
The LORD hath purposed to destroy
the wall of the daughter of Zion...
her gates are sunk into the ground...
The law is no more...
Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water
For the destruction of the
daughter of my people...
Till the LORD look down,
and behold from heaven...

Looking into the detail of Judah's tragedy helps us to appreciate the loss experienced by a faithless people caught unawares. We shall be in the same position and worse if we neglect so great salvation presently offered.
