Like the Psalms and Proverbs, Job consists largely of poetry, and forms part of the Wisdom literature of the Hebrews.
The Priest concerned himself with the Law, and the prophets with the "word", so in Israel "counsel" was the province of the wise. Whereas the Law was "fixed" and the words of the prophets were "special", the Spirit word communicated to the wise was more reflective, for prayerful meditation - it concerned the solution God offered man for the dep moral and spiritual problems with which life confronted him The Book of Job serves this end.
